Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

In June 2023, Loxwood Primary School were invited to take part in the Anti-Bullying Ambassador training programme as part of The Diana Award.

What are we doing?

Loxwood Primary School are proud to have six trained Anti-Bullying Ambassadors who are now working with Mrs Swann to earn badges for the school.

The Ambassadors meet once a month to measure their progress.

We have already been awarded our Wellbeing, Inclusion and Community Badges.  We have focused on encouraging positive wellbeing, spreading kindness and strengthening the peer-support system in our community through understanding.

Here is some feedback received from The Diana Award team about our application for the Inclusion Badge:

You are being awarded the Anti-Bullying Ambassador Inclusion Badge because you have shown:

  1. Your commitment to building students’ knowledge of diversity and inclusion through your informative assembly.
  2. Your dedication to ensuring your library is inclusive of all different communities and backgrounds.
  3. Your commitment to raising awareness of your inclusion work with your newsletter piece.
  4. Your successful efforts to celebrate diversity in school with a visual display. We love your creativity!
  5. Your dedication to rewarding respectful and inclusive behaviour by introducing the 'Celebrating Respectful Behaviour Awards.' It's great that you included your wider school community in this action!

Well done for all your successful efforts to create an inclusive school environment - you have truly embodied all that the Inclusion Badge represents!

From the start of the Autumn Term, 2024, we will be continuing to work on sharing our understanding of bullying behaviour and how to prevent it.  Keep an eye out for some of our new projects in and around the school!

About The Diana Award

The Diana Award benefits from the support of HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Sussex and was founded as a lasting legacy to their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales’ belief that young people have the power to change the world.

The Diana Award inspires positive change in the lives of young people through four key programmes; Mentoring for young people at risk, a youth-led Anti-Bullying campaign, a Changemakers programme that aims to reimagine mental health support for young people with Black and Black mixed-race heritage, and a prestigious award – the Diana Award.

The Anti-Bullying Ambassador Programme engages young people, parents and teachers to change the attitudes, behaviour and culture of bullying by building skills and confidence to address different situations, both online and offline.  It has trained over 50,000 young people across the UK to lead on anti-bullying campaigns in their schools.
