Willow Class - Year 2

Welcome to the
Willow Class Page

Hello, my name is Mrs Rolland and I am very excited to be the teacher for Willow Class! Thank you for dropping in to our Class Page to see what we are getting up to in Year 2!

 Autumn Term 2026

Our first exciting topic of the year is called 'Once Upon a Tale!. We will be exploring stories, from big bad wolves to little pigs, taking on character roles and delving deeper into the world of fabulous fairy tales. We will also be discovering how we use technology to communicate, to write and entertain ourselves, and how this has changed within living memory.

We would love to look at some real artefacts to help bring our learning to life. If you have items such as an old computer, a typewriter or a dial or push button telephone that you could lend us, please do get in touch via messages@ or let me know in person.

You may like to explore the link below with your child before they start in Year 2. It has information about the Year 2 Curriculum, links to fun games and includes revision of key Year 1 skills, which your child might find useful.

Class Wish Lists!

At Loxwood, we believe that every student deserves the best possible learning experience. Our teachers have curated Amazon Wish Lists filled with essential tools, supplies, and educational resources that will help enrich and enhance the learning opportunities in their classrooms. These items, from books to STEM kits and art materials, are selected to spark creativity, foster curiosity, and support students in reaching their full potential.
By contributing to our class Amazon Wish Lists, you’re directly impacting the classroom experience and ensuring that each child has access to the resources they need to succeed. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference, and we are incredibly grateful for your support in helping us create an inspiring and engaging learning environment. Thank you for being a part of our school community!
