School Uniform & Equipment

We ask that children wear full school uniform each day, including all black shoes. Most items can be purchased from supermarkets or high street stores. Uniform items with the school logo can also be ordered from our online supplier, Taylor Made Uniforms:

Please make sure everything is clearly named.

School Uniform

Our school uniform includes:

White or green polo shirt
A green jumper or cardigan
Grey or black skirt, trousers or shorts
If wearing a skirt, black or grey cycling shorts may be worn underneath
White or grey socks
Green or grey tights
Black shoes – plain, all-black trainers are also acceptable
Reception children may wear black or green jogging bottoms if this is more suitable for them

Warmer Weather

When the weather is warm, children may wear:

Grey shorts
A green and white check summer dress
A green and white check summer playsuit

There are no set dates for ‘summer uniform’. Children can wear these items whenever the weather is warm enough for them to be comfortable.

PE Kit

Children will need:

A polo shirt in their house colour
Black shorts
Black leggings or jogging bottoms for colder weather
Green jogging bottoms for Reception
Trainers – please avoid laces unless your child can tie them independently
A PE bag in their house colour

Please ensure all PE kit is clearly named.

Birthdays

Children may wear their own clothes on their birthday. Please ensure that outfits are practical and suitable for active play and running around the playground.

Hair, Jewellery and Appearance

Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back in a simple, discreet style, using green, brown or black hairbands. Please avoid large bows or accessories.

Children should not wear:

Make-up
Nail varnish
Fake nails
Temporary tattoos

For safety, children should not wear jewellery to school except for a pair of small stud earrings. These must be removed or taped up for PE.

Children may wear a simple watch if it is not distracting them from their learning; however, smart watches are not permitted in school. All watches must be removed during PE lessons.

Gymnastics, Dance and Swimming – Verrucas

If your child has a verruca, please contact the school office to let us know.

For gymnastics, dance and swimming sessions, the verruca must be covered using either:

A plaster
A verruca sock
A verruca barrier

This allows children to continue taking part safely, as gymnastics and dance cannot be completed in socks or shoes and we do not want children to miss out on PE.

School Bags

Reception to Year 4

All children from Reception to Year 4 must bring a school book bag and PE bag only.

Backpacks and rucksacks are not permitted for Reception to Year 4 because of the limited cloakroom space available.

Years 5 and 6

Children in Years 5 and 6 may bring a small backpack or rucksack if they prefer, rather than a book bag.

They will still need their PE bag as required.

Wellies

Each child from Reception to Year 5 needs a named pair of wellies to keep at school.

Children in Year 6 should bring their wellies into school on their Woodland Learning days only.

Woodland Learning

All children take part in Woodland Learning on designated days throughout the year. Dates for each year group can be found on the relevant class pages of our website.

On their Woodland Learning day, children should arrive at school dressed in suitable outdoor clothing that they are comfortable getting dirty.

Please ensure that all clothing and footwear is clearly named.

Children will need:

A waterproof jacket or coat
A fleece or sweatshirt
Waterproof trousers or old trousers that can get muddy
Spare socks
Wellies or sturdy outdoor boots
A woolly hat or sunhat, depending on the weather
Gloves, depending on the weather
A separate plastic bag for muddy clothing and footwear

For wellies, please follow the school arrangements above: Reception to Year 5 should keep a named pair at school, while Year 6 should bring theirs in on Woodland Learning days.

Children's arms and legs must be fully covered to help protect them while exploring the woodland environment.

Shorts, crop tops and football kits are not suitable for Woodland Learning.

Suitable clothing is essential for children to participate safely. Unfortunately, if your child does not have the correct clothing or footwear, they may be unable to take part in their session.

Woodland Learning takes place in most weather conditions. Sessions will generally only be cancelled in the event of high winds, thunderstorms or other conditions that may present a safety risk. Children should therefore be prepared to spend time outside in a range of weather and dress appropriately.

Warm and Cold Weather

As children learn and play outside throughout the year, please ensure they are appropriately prepared for the weather.

In warmer weather, children should have a sunhat and should arrive at school wearing appropriate sun protection.

In colder weather, please make sure children have a warm coat, hat and gloves.

For younger children, in case of accidents or particularly wet or muddy play, please pack a spare change of clothes, including pants and socks/tights, in their PE bag.

Water Bottles

All children must bring a named, refillable water bottle with a secure, fitted lid, containing water only.

Open cups, Stanley-style cups and tumblers with straws are not suitable for school.

Children bringing a packed lunch will also need a separate drink for lunchtime, in addition to their classroom water bottle.

Toys and Fidget Toys

Please do not bring toys, collectibles or fidget toys into school. These can easily become lost, damaged or distract from learning.

If your child requires a fidget tool to support their learning or regulation, this will be assessed, agreed and provided by the school as part of their classroom support.
